Freshers Week-Personal Safety Advice.
With the start of the new academic rear approaching at our university, the local crime reduction team have a message for all students to help keep them safe and secure when out and about in the local area.
John McNICHOLAS, Crime Reduction Advisor for Reading Police said that by taking a few simple precautions students will reduce the chances of being a victim. A would -be attacker will be looking for the ideal victim on their own in the ideal location which would be poorly lit and isolated with no witnesses about. For this reason it makes sense where possible to plan ahead when you are out and about. By removing each of these features you will remove the opportunity for any attack.
